9 times out of 10 turning the TV off and on will fix the black screen of death.

Of course, there are times when the above solution does not solve the problem. If so, the problem is usually a hardware problem.

However, before fixing the hardware issue, there are other practical and easy troubleshooting steps that you should try.

Disconnect the Hisense TV from the wall

Even though this solution seems obvious, unplugging your Hisense TV (on and off) is the most common method to fix the black screen of death.

The key here is to wait the WHOLE 60 seconds.Be a little patient and make sure at least a minute has passed before plugging it back in.

While the TV is not connected, find andPress and hold the power button on your Hisense TV for 30 seconds. Make sure you're holding the TV's power button and not the remote control!

This discharges the remaining residual energy in the TV and allows the TV to restart automatically. It's different than just turning the remote on and off!

Once you plug the TV back in after the 60 seconds have passed you should see it turn back on without any issues.

While this solution should work about 90% of the time, the remaining 10% can be a bit trickier. If your Hisense TV still shows the black screen of death, try the solutions below.

Check all HDMI connections

If turning the Hisense TV on and off didn't work, the next thing to check is the HDMI connections.

If you have something connected to your TV via HDMI, make sure the connections are tight! That means you disconnect them and connect them back securely.

With the growing popularity of HDMI transmission devices such asAgainjfire stick, more and more Hisense TV owners report the black screen of death.

And it's usually due to a bad HDMI connection.

Bad HDMI connections come in a few forms:

  1. Loose HDMI connection
  2. Faulty HDMI connection
  3. HDMI cable times

Once you've confirmed that the connection is secure, go ahead and make sure you're on the correct inbound channel as well.

To do this, look on the back of your TV and locate the HDMI port you are using. There should be a label or something on your TV above the HDMI port that tells you what the HDMI port number is.

Make a note of this number (HDMI "2" in the example above).

ThenTake your Hisense TV remote control(NOT your Roku or Firestick remote, if you're using those) and clickFUENTEPROHIBITED). You may have to toggle this a few times until you find the appropriate input on your TV.

If the connection is secure and you are on the correct entry,I would try connecting it to a different HDMI port.

Hisense TVs often have multiple connections, sometimes as many as four! Use a different port and see if the image is restored.

If not, the last possible solution is herereplace hdmi cableYou use it and see if it works.

Hisense TV backlight problem

If your Hisense's TV is on (the power indicator is green and you hear audio) but there is no image on the screen, it is probably because one of the backlight LED strips is faulty.

To fix the problem, make sure your TV is on, grab a flashlight (your phone's flashlight will work too) and shine it near the TV screen.I suggest turning off all the lights to see better.

If the screen works, you will see a very dark picture on the TV.

Use the remote control to see if the TV responds to commands. I suggest trying the enter and volume buttons on the remote as well.

You may need to move the light around to find where the TV UI is on the screen. If you listen to the audio, you might also see a faded image.

If you shine a flashlight on the screen and see a faint image and you can use the remote to control the TV, that's good news. This means that the TV's T-CON and motherboard are working as they should.

If so, the problem is most likely related to the TV's LED backlight.

TO USE: Although some of a TV's components can be easily and inexpensively replaced by yourself,Taking apart a TV will likely void the warranty. If your TV is still under warranty, I would suggest contacting Hisense for further assistance.

That said, a few simple DIY fixes can usually bring your TV back to life, and you won't have to pay a lot for technicians or repairs.

Below I will go over some of the components that are most likely to cause the black screen of death.

There is also the possibility of breaking the entire bezel and buying aA replacement screen is expensive and usually not worth it..Buying a new TV is usually cheaper than replacing a panel. But it is rare for a TV panel to break unless it has been violently physically damaged.

Replacing Hisense LED backlight strips

The TV backlights are made up of strips of LED lights. If one of the light bars breaks, the entire bar will not work..

It's easier to replace the entire strip than it is to replace a single LED light that isn't working properly. You can order a set of LED backlight strips for your exact TV model online.

Replacing the LED backlight strips is a little tricky as there are a lot of screws to remove and all the bezels to dismantle.

You also need to remove the glass panel, which is fragile and very expensive to replace.

In other words, I would not recommend replacing LED backlight strips unless you are familiar with TV disassembly.

If you don't want to take on the project, you can hire a Hisense technician or a TV workshop to do it, although it will be more expensive.

In most cases, replacing LED backlight strips will cost between $100 and $200 depending on how many strips you need. Most TVs have 9 to 12 strips of LED backlighting, but some have more depending on their size.

Replacing your TV's LED backlight strips is a risky project, but it can fix the black screen of death and save you hundreds of dollars in official repairs.

(Also a good choice if one side of the TV has a picture and the other doesn't, or if the screen is too dark.)

Replacing the T-CON board

If you don't see an image even with a light shining directly on the screen, your Hisense TV's T-CON board is probably faulty.

The T-CON circuit board of a television is responsible for generating the image on the screen.

While it might seem daunting at first, replacing the T-CON circuit board in your TV is a pretty easy DIY project.

You can find replacement T-CON boards by looking up your TV's model number on online marketplaces like eBay or Amazon.. T-CON boards are not very expensive, usually under $100.

Fortunately, replacing a T-CON board in a TV is much easier than replacing the LED backlight.Just remove the back panel of the TV, disconnect the flat cables from the T-CON board, remove the screws, remove them and insert the new one in the same place.

It only takes a few minutes. Typically, there are only four screws and two or three ribbon cables attached to the panel.

If nothing has worked for you so far, it's definitely worth getting in touch.Hisense Technical Assistance.

They offer a variety of service methods, from home delivery to mail-in options.

The cost of this service depends on the final diagnosis and whether or not the work is covered by the warranty.

But the good thing is, you get a Hisense-certified technician to take a look.

Hisense TV Warranty

You can also check if your TV is covered by the Hisense warranty.

Unfortunately, Hisense TV warranties are usually only 1 year and most of the black screen deaths I've heard of are on TVs that are several years old.

Still worth a try.
