Every day, dedicated employees and partners of the Multnomah County Health Department work to make the community healthier. The health department is the largest of any Multnomah County department in terms of budget and staffing, with a budget of $400 million and 1,500 employees. Its responsibilities include promoting public health through the prevention of communicable diseases, supporting environmental health, promoting community health through prevention and health improvement initiatives, and providing emergency response services and support . Reporting directly to the District Superintendent and Chief Operating Officer, the Director leads a team responsible for providing resources and leadership to Department of Health employees to maintain a supportive, compassionate, safe, trustworthy, respectful and motivated work environment. promote.
